This isn’t a place to violate any laws or to discuss illegal activities, so keep your content and interactions legit and above board.
Any member who knowingly posts third-party copyrighted content without proper authorization and/or promotes sites that feature unauthorized or illegal content will lose their ability to post content on WebJD.
Links to external websites are allowed on WebJD, provided that such links are relevant to the corresponding WebJD content. That said, posting links that attempt to recruit WebJD users to a competing website is not allowed. Members who develop a pattern of posting unauthorized links may have their accounts suspended.
This is a professional site, so while a certain amount of passion, colorful language and even hyperbole is permissible, do not engage in name-calling, threats, harassment, lewdness, or displays of bigotry.
We encourage you to share information about your business or practice within the WebJD community, however, we ask that you do this in your profile or through our advertising services. Please do not directly solicit clients as part of your posted content (e.g., in blogs, comments, forums, etc.). Links to your WebJD profile are already displayed with your posted content, so contact information is already available to readers who wish to contact you. The tone of your posted content should always remain non-commercial in nature.
Redundant content may be removed from WebJD, so think twice about copying and pasting the same content in multiple posts or locations. Additionally, posts with a substantial amount of content that you did not author may be removed.
Quality Over Quantity
Posting content on WebJD is a great way to demonstrate your legal expertise and connect with potential clients. That said, your posted content should always remain non-commercial in tone, and should provide substantive and relevant information rather than a sales pitch. Likewise, comments and forum posts should not simply state “I Agree” or “Hire an Attorney” without further elaboration.
Sensitive Personal Information
When posting content and/or interacting with others on WebJD, you should refrain from giving out sensitive personal information (e.g., home addresses, credit card numbers, social security numbers, passwords, etc.).
Questions: Please ask questions directly related to your legal concern. The best questions are brief and to the point. Do not post spam or irrelevant content.
We appreciate your compliance with these guidelines. While we are devoted to free speech, we reserve the right to remove any content that does not respect these guidelines or that detracts significantly from our users’ experience. Failure to comply with any of these guidelines may also result in the temporary or permanent loss of posting privileges.
If you have any questions or wish to report any violations, please contact us.
